6th Graders -  Their VanGogh-inspired, impasto style, SELF PORTRAITS are hanging in the church hallway. Very Impressive!

They then worked on interior perspective using Van Gogh's Bedroom painting as a inspiration. Students worked first with pencil and rulers, then oil pastels to make their own bedroom come to life, real or imagined! These will brighten up the halls this week.

The 6th graders are now starting circle weaving.

5th Graders - They worked on gesture drawings of the body in action and turned them into sports action-figure drawings. These will be up in the hallways to enjoy. The students then took the gesture drawing idea 3-D and created wire sculpted figures. These are on display in the Art room until we find another place to show them off.

The 5th graders started weaving last week on a simple cardboard loom.

7th Graders - They are learning about Masks of the World and designing their own Plaster Mask. This is a fun and adventurous projact that will keep them busy and excited for a few weeks!

8th Graders - They finished up their Identity Portraits at the end of 2nd Tri and I will be getting them ready to display in the church hall gallery. They are awesome!

After a long time working on their charcoal portraits, we had a totally different short and exciting lesson in the Japanese Art of Kyoketsu -zome!

Folding and dipping paper in bright colored dyes creating beautiful designs. these will be ready soon.

3rd Graders - They have just finished their Mattisse-inspired Patterned Portraits, they are fantastic, and I can't wait to hang them up! They are so colorful and exciting!
