All classes are moving along beautifully, learning and improving Spanish skills in every class. While new grammar and vocabulary is introduced, it's very much encouraged that during class students use what's being learned by practicing through communicating skills, written or orally. This is a challenge students get to enjoy more and more as time goes by, since they gain more confidence and understand that while you practice and learn you make lots of mistakes on the way from which you learn.
It's great to see how students mature both in their skills and self confidence. So many times students surprise me with how much of material they put in practice showing off their skills.
During these past weeks all grades have been enjoying refining their grammar along with new vocabulary by playing Guess Who? in Spanish. In each box I have included a sheet with all of the questions possible, providing them a quick glance of questions they know as well as introducing new words (all students love it when they learn the word barba for beard). 5th graders got to play as a class against me the first time to have a feel of how it goes in español, and of course they all loved it, they wanted more until I won for the second time! Last class, I've already let them play in groups against each other, and it's been so fun listening to them!
Some 8th graders have taken their placement test for high school, and have shared they did very well. Others will take it soon. At this time they have been taught and practiced the material necessary to enter level 2 Spanish, and I'm sure the majority of our students are well prepared to get in at this level.
Enjoy the Easter season, Feliz Pascua,
