HOLA, HOLA, HOLA- ¡ Que maravilla ! marvelous job! students have been working very hard during the last weeks especially reviewing ' old stuff' to get up to speed. ALL students have received a textbook, which will serve as a guide as well as a reference support throughout the year (please cover it, and treat it well)

All grades had the chance to learn something new about the celebration and traditions of Day of the Dead, also about All Saints Day, and how is celebrated differently depending on the Hispanic country-MUY INTERESANTE

It's been a busy time making and presenting projects about classroom expectations, and about Christopher Colombus. Students have learned many interesting facts, including some controversies, about the discovery of America. Students really enjoy to be able to relate the Spanish to celebrations, math, history, geography, etc. Some samples include: when learning the big numbers in 7th gr, they've learned to add, subtract, multiply and divide (yes! even math problems are solved differently), also they've learned the capitals of all the 21 official Spanish speaking countries by comparing their populations. 5th graders have learned the names of the Spanish countries and where they are located in Central and South America, in Europe, and even that there's 1 in Africa.

We have 42 7th grade students enrolled for the Spanish Concordia Camp. This year students will be enjoying this yearly, wonderful opportunity to practice their skills in the spring, during the weekend of May 14-16th. You can already sense the excitement when Spanish camp is brought up for any reason. The theme this year is Descubre Perú (Discover Peru).

8th graders have been learning the difference of ser or estar, and have passed this challenging lesson with lots of practice. Also we've been reviewing the regular verbs, along with to have and to go in many different ways including the snow ball game, and a fast-thinking dice game. In the meantime, there's a lot of new vocabulary introduced to expand into more 'juicy' descriptions.

For sure THE highlight of this past month has been having a new student teacher from St. Thomas, Señor Erik Olson, who will be with us until the second week in December. He's already been teaching some classes, and there's only one way to describe it, he loves teaching your kids (and is a very good teacher), your kids love his ways of teaching. I'm learning new fresh ideas from him myself.

Next, we're already preparing classes around Accion de Gracias and Christmas holidays. WOW! Gracias for reading our news,
