How fun and delicious! on S.A.L.T day I had the chance to teach about Spanish cuisine and food during my class Tortilla española. The original and simplest recipe is made of potatoes, onions, eggs with olive oil and salt to taste. The students enjoyed my cooking demonstration, helping with the preparation, writing the recipe with their own words as I demonstrated, listening to how it is very much served as an appetizer, how it is cut and served, etc. I loved hearing their reasons for wanting to be in my class: one said he was the only one at home who liked onions, another thought this recipe sounded interesting and yummy, another loves cooking egg dishes... They had many curious questions about this recipe and other Spanish cooking, and in the end the best part of all was eating this tapa dish from Spain. Both tortillas turned delicious, and ALL students enjoyed savoring it, having seconds, thirds...ok, so did I!

I'm sure most will try cooking it on their own for their families. It was a great experience for me to share my love for both cooking and eating

Spanish food with my own students.
