We have been all about the websites the past two weeks. Seventh grade finished their history day sites and a few went on to compete... can't wait to see how that turns out! I will post a list of the website URLs next week.
Fourth grade learned all about the "behind the scenes" of the Internet this week. They will begin to make their state report websites in a few weeks!
We continue to work on Typing with the 2nd and 3rd graders. Check out some fun typing games here. Mr. Peterson even stopped in to play Fearless Frida for a few minutes on the way to his office.
Kindergarten celebrated 101 days of school in the lab with these websites.
First grade learned a little about word processing and is in the process of typing up some fun steps to catch a leprechaun.
Fifth grade finished up their one page newpapers and a few are posted in the computer lab! They were learning how to create columns and insert and manipulate images and text boxes.
Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade all got to spend a few minutes this week checking out Google SketchUp. This program allows the user to create buildings and other things in 3D. Best of all it's free! Check it out here.
These girls won 8th place out of 43 videos submitted in the Children's Hospital Flu Prevention Contest!!!! Be forwarned... you won't be able to get this awesome song out of your head! Get Vaccinated!!!!

Catholic Schools week was fun, but we still worked very hard!
Kindergarten checked out http://abcya.com
First Grade has been learning how to switch between Windows and Mac.
Second grade has been playing a few word games in Windows.
Third grade has begun a little typing practice. They used Dance Mat typing and a game called Type for fun... we will take a vote next week to see which one we liked using best.
Fourth grade is finishing up some self portraits using the program called Pixie. They learned to use the selection tool and the Duplicate feature!!! Super cool!
Fifth grade is patiently waiting while I preview all of their finished cyber-bullying videos and has started a one page newspaper project. They will be learning all about the different features of a word processor.
Six grade finished their presentations and is working on a four fold Rome brochure for their Social Studies class.
Seventh grade is finishing up their History Day websites.
and Eighth grade took a week off their project and made some fun Catholic Schools Week window clings to decorate the school.
