We hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!
Important Events this week:
Tuesday, Nov. 3- 6th-8th grade go to watch a play on Bullying presented by students from Cretin-Derham Hall at 10:00 AM
Wednesday, Nov. 4- 7th graders spend the day at Church for a Courage Retreat. Students will work on team-building exercises, and will get to know their classmates a little bit more. It is a great experience for them. There are also picture re-takes on Wednesday.
At the beginning of every month, we will be posting information about your child's core classes. This will allow you to see a general overview of what is going on in your child's classes for the next month.
Literature - The seventh graders are having their second test of the year tomorrow, on James Thurber's story, "The Night the Bed Fell." They will be starting a new story, "The Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell.
Science - We are finishing a unit on cells with a test on Cell Reproduction on Thursday, Nov. 5. We will then begin talking about heredity, and how organisms adapt to their environments over time.
Math - The seventh graders are continuing to learn and practice solving equations.
Religion - The 7th graders will be finishing up their studies of the life and times of Jesus. They now have a good basic understanding of the historical context of the New Testament and are ready to delve into the gospels.
English - In English class, the seventh graders will continue to learn how to structure papers. So far, they've done papers on what their favorite pet would be and also on what they would do if they had millions of dollars.
