Here are a few of the things that the sixth graders have been busy learning so far this year:

• For social studies they’re studying ancient Egypt.  They’re currently writing plays that depict aspects of daily life in that culture.
• In English they are working on dictionary skills.
• Art class coincides beautifully with social studies right now: the students are drawing Egyptian styled pictures.  
• In reading class, the students have been devouring many interesting, fun, short stories to enhance their natural love of reading.
• For science, the first unit of study has been an introduction to chemistry.
• Religion class has been focusing on the beginnings of the Catholic faith, starting with Father Abraham.
