Short and Sweet Hi-lites week of January 14th, 2010
Dear
Parents and Guardians,
Yesterday, we celebrated a 6th Grade Family Mass
in the Chapel with Fr. Paul. The
first lesson was from Samuel I and told the story of Samuel being called by the
Lord. Fr. Paul's reflection was clear,
"We need to be listening." We are
all busy, busy people with busy, busy children. Quiet is a blessing.
Try to niche out a spot of quiet time for yourself and your family. It might help us hear God' voice. (Special thanks to 6th
graders, Tommy Weiss and Colin Francis, for their great job of reading Samuel
for us!)
Have a great long weekend.

Congratulations to 8th grader, Leah Leonidas, for
taking top place in our HCS Geography Bee. Leah will go on to complete a written test to qualify for
the state competition. Go Leah!
A
Spot of Help
The coordinators of Families Moving Forward thank you for
your food donations to help stock lunches. Quite honestly, they could use a "bit more." Please consider tossing an extra lunch
item into your grocery cart this weekend and send it to school on Tuesday. Your generosity makes a
difference.
Dates to Remember:
Tomorrow: Viking shirts/jerseys can be worn to pre-celebrate our win on Sunday. Acceptable wear for Friday: Marathon shirts or Vikings garb. It is not a regular out-of-uniform day. Go Vikes!
Tomorrow: H1N1 Clinic at HCS from 7-10 a.m.
Monday, January 18th Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. NO SCHOOL

Look for all of the Catholic Schools Week announcements to come home next week!
We have a fun line-up....rollerskating, BINGO, Twins Day...
Please plan on attending our All School Mass, Feb. 3rd. Following Mass, we will have a chance to hear from our new "Distinguished Aumni," Michelle Salmen, Class of 1995.
