Buffy Larson, Band

Even though I am at Highland Catholic only one day each week, I feel that I am truly a part of this lovely community. I come to the school as part of the Hill-Murray Parish Schools Band program and am welcomed by one and all; students, teachers, administration and staff.

Teaching music through band has been one of the great joys of my life. Communicating through, and thinking in the language of music is one of my passions and being in a position to help others do the same is exciting, challenging and rewarding. Performing on my trumpet in a community orchestra and with my brass quintet as well as singing in my church choir help me stay humble and realize that I have so much to learn. I have recently fallen in love with early music and am on the board of the Bach Society of Minnesota and volunteer regularly with the Lyra Baroque Orchestra. My wonderful family supports me in my endeavors and I love watching my two children make their place in the world.
